Home...

...is where LAKSA my heart is.

The shit of waking up dead early in the morning to catch the first flight of the day is only made the better by the reward that came two hours later. The piping hot bowl of laksa at the place you're most familiar with is definitely worth waking up for. Hence, extra large photo just to highlight the first proper bowl of Sarawak laksa for months.
Yes, I have gone back home on board a 7am AirAsia Penang-Kuching flight (that's the only available flight for me anyway) for the next one month or so of semester holidays. My apology for anyone taken by surprise by my unannounced return (other than a rather discreet status update on Facebook and nothing else that could be drawn clue on) so shout out to all my fellow Kuchingite Tauke and Taukenios that I will be free to limteh and hangout at all time!

Another main motivation to come back home besides the semester holiday of course Chinese New Year, coming around a week's time or so. Where else would I want to be besides the place of endless sky, frequent torrential downpours, fresh air and loving family members that is called my home sweet home for Chinese New Year?

Chinese New Year is also yet another festive season in which shopping malls pull out their best pizazz of red and yellow and lanterns and chinese plums and all sort of Chinese paraphernalia. Though 2013 being the zodiac year of snake, mall management might have second thought putting anatomically correct snakes as decoration not to mention trying to come out with catchy tagline incorporating snake since there is a dearth of decent chinese proverb about snake while other zodiacs definitely has a larger repertoire for auspicious saying.
As the year of Water Dragon 2012 draw to a close, the year of Water Snake 2013 begins...and may a new year brought great bountiful harvest and achievement. I definitely could use all the auspicious luck that I can get for this year.
