"Do be careful don't get too close to the naked flame."
"Isn't it a wonderful summer? Look at those naked ladies."
This is the two sentence that were given by my HBT100 lecturer, Dr. Aniswal in our tutorial. She want us to do discussion on this two sentence about how do we translate this two sentence into BM. The first one is OK(Berjaga-jaga, Jangan mendekati api itu) but what makes us talk is the second sentence(the naked ladies). Quite a few of us interpret it as "gadis bogel", some translate it as "gadis seksi" and one of them even found out that naked ladies is a type of flower!!!(wah she really did do some research on this).
So, it all come down to the context, the meaning that i tries to portray, the situation. how it was spoken and speakers/your own culture. hmm......need to think a lot more to improve my translation and interpretation.
ps. I haven start doin my kerja kursus yet....wht should i do!!!!!
