Congratulation, President Obama.

Finally all the sizzle and sparks through the last couple of months had finally settled down...America went to their ballots and they made their choice on the 4th of November...the anticipation runs all time high in this election...and this time, their anticipation didn't fail them...so here's the result of the United States of America's Presidential Election 2008.

John McCain (Presidential Candidate) & Sarah Palin (Vice Presidential Candidate) - Republicans
Electoral college votes: 163 (21 states)
Popular votes: 56,359,081 (46.3%)

Barack Obama (President-Elect) & Joe Biden (Vice President-Elect) - Democrats

The breakdown of electoral college votes.

Obama:

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer..."

"...This is our time, to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth, that, out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope. And where we are met with cynicism and doubts and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes, we can."

McCain:

"...My friends, we have — we have come to the end of a long journey. The American people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly..."

"...To congratulate him [Obama] on being elected the next president of the country that we both love..."

"...In a contest as long and difficult as this campaign has been, his success alone commands my respect for his ability and perseverance. But that he managed to do so by inspiring the hopes of so many millions of Americans who had once wrongly believed that they had little at stake or little influence in the election of an American president is something I deeply admire and commend him for achieving..."

"...This is an historic election, and I recognize the special significance it has for African-Americans and for the special pride that must be theirs tonight..."

"...I wish Godspeed to the man who was my former opponent and will be my president. And I call on all Americans, as I have often in this campaign, to not despair of our present difficulties, but to believe, always, in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here..."

Congratulation, President Obama. You worked hard, Senator McCain. And GREAT JOB, AMERICA. The rest of the world too, are looking at you with pride and hope.

Epilogue: I was excited about this and actually followed the counting of votes live in library while ignoring studying *lol should be studying my Spanish first instead* (through BBC's website) and Obama had a huge from the start compared to McCain...looks like America did ready to believe in change. Change. We can believe in.

Meanwhile, in Malaysia: Change that we resist of. Promise that we shouldn't believe in. Reality that we ignore of. Peasants, peons! Let's get back to work and toil...we still need to make a living even while the drama is seemingly endless...

Next post: Exam 2/5 review. And now also waiting for my Bleach and Junjou Romantica download to finish...faster lar, connection!
