Just a short recap...

Prologue: First post in November. It's November already! 2009 is just two months away from over. The first semester of my final year is only about 3 weeks from over. What else is going to be over now?

...before I am heading to a direct collision and suffer an inexplicable and inevitable death, hopefully that exist metaphorically and emotionally instead of literally. Hopefully. Let's go through what's installed for me this time for the final exam. At first glance, this rollercoaster ride may seems to be a short one but let me tell you honestly that it will not be a joy ride at all. In fact, this might be the most horrifying short roller coaster ride ever with the first loop looking insurmountable to overcome. Will all of us survive the ordeal?

HBT213: Semantik dan Sintaksis untuk Penterjemahan

Commentary: First paper and I can already hear the hymn for my funeral (metaphorically). To be honest, I made little progress in my attempt to study it. Material available in hand: 7 lecture slides (thankfully completed with the help from fellow zhimuis.), Tatabahasa Dewan (I doubt it's useful), Penterjemahan Bahasa Melayu-Bahasa Cina (Just Dr. Goh's chapter. But still...) and assortments of scribled lecture notes etc lying here and there. Good going, indeed. How the heck do you use Penyataan Logik to explain the function and meaning over verbs?! The (logical) formula proposed by McGinet-Chierchia is too cryptic to be deciphered! And oohh Pragmatic. Thou art so blur to have a framework. It's all about the context! Lingustic context and situational context!!!! Bincangkan just concentrate on one topic, sejauh manakah need to talk about other stuff as well. Analisis use point-form! *Brain fried*

So yeah. Hopefully can go through all of it tonight. The slides and notes and all.

Commentary: Urm. What can we study about Creative Writing? Erm...none. 1 hours for 500 words. Yay. And ohh got to know my assignment component mark for it already: Biasa. As with the lot of us. Only a few Special Little People got A- or B+.

Commentary: Since it's the last paper, haven't even touch the textbook yet. And yeah, we need to watch Gosford Park as question for the exam will be based on it. Those bastard virus over photocopy shop under PHS1 however infected my flash drive and the folder that contain Gosford Park which I copied from AhPheng is infected and exterminated. FML. I should have known that place is reeking with stupid virus! Blame lousy USB flash-er that goes around stupid website and had little protection in their computer which in turn infect the computer at photocopy shop which in turn infect unsuspected, innocent user like me. WTF. So yeah, need to get Gosford Park again.

To all my coursemates: LET'S FIGHT IT THROUGH TOGETHER!!! WE WILL SURVIVE! ARM YOURSELF AND CHARGE TOWARDS IT WITH ALL THE MIGHT WE HAVE!!! FIRE!

*incoherent WARCRY*

Epilogue: Just less than 24 hour before exam starts. I need to avoid any sort of random distraction in this crucial time now. It's all about me and the exam. ME and EXAM. My freedom will come when the clock hits 5:15pm on 17th of November and then will be off for a whirlwind trip up north again before finally heading my beloved HOME SWEET HOME aka KUCHING on the 22nd of November. You guys! Don't go limteh without me! LOL.
