Because staying over Bakti makes both Sungai Dua Gate and Bukt Gambir Gate (and any off-campus eatery beyond it) a lil beyond reach, walking or by bus. The price that we have to put up in exchange of laziness: the sometimes rather gross-looking and most of the time cold nasi campur stalls (especially the Bakti chinese nasi campur stall. For some reason, I found the choices of dish over the auntie's stall is a lil...off-putting. Urgh. I've gotten a lil bit too used to Hooi Cafe at Tekun, the stall that I usually visit during my three years in Tekun. Meanwhile, I have a new found appreciation towards the Malay Nasi Campur stall instead during my time in Bakti. Love the beef rendang BUT...*continue reading*) Not too mention that most nasi campur stall proprietors seem to have their own formula in calculating the price for your plate of nasi campur which can occasionally be a pleasant surprise but most of the time leaving you puzzled with the cut-throat price that landed on you. Urgh.
And yet without fail, we still visit the very same stall almost every day, eating the very same thing we called "food". Unbelievable. Even though I wouldn't call McDonald burgers or KFC Chicken as much as proper food too.
Epilogue: Besides looking for food, looking for a free wi-fi that doesn't block websites (Damn you, USMhotspots! What's the point of you guys having super fast connection if you can't even access websites that you would actually access daily...like Youtube or Facebook games or file hosting websites! ...wait. Sounds like uni student FAIL here. *ahem ahem*) requires effort too! Currently spotting for good onlining place around Sungai Dua gate and settling down (right now!) at McDonald during morning time. And even though the power plug is at premium (two only?!), the electricity here's free (which makes conquering one plug to yourself worth it), connection speed here is reasonable and most importantly, they have air-con!
