Prologue: After two fairly ecstatic post about new stuff, guess it's time to calm down the euphoria and let the mundane part of reality sinks in. So in the end, I still need that motivation to keep on moving.

Went off campus the other day to take out more money from my Hong Leong Bank account. Boy,
Yes4G can really pinch all the money out from my pocket! (Also partly due my gross under-estimation on how much will I use if there's a
super fast internet for me. Turns out I can really burn the bandwidth!). As I marched out to Sungai Dua gate, I bumped into
ShuLi who just came back from her grocery and dinner hunting over Sungai Dua Pasar Malam. Oh right! It has been quite a while since the last time (like almost a years plus ago) that I went over to the Pasar Malam! The prospect of dinner hunting piques my interest and since Hong Leong Bank is at the direction anyway, might as well do an extended walk there!
| As it was only 6:00pm, most stalls are still setting up. They have a huge arrays of stuff over Sungai Dua Pasar Malam from cheap knock off clothing to shoes and household item but most importantly of course, FOODS and DRINKS. |
| The pasar malam stretches further back to Hamna and this part is where fresh vegetables, fishes and poultry are available...besides the food of course. |
| As I walk along the Pasar Malam, the urge for me to munch on something rises as I passed each food stalls...and I bought Keropk Lekor! |
| Of course after eating deep fried oily food such as Keropok lekor, the throat started to feel a tadbit dry. The drink stall that manage to catch my attention: Pearl Milk Tea stall, complete with containers of colourful powder. Hmm. Bought this champagne (whatever this flavour means) pearl milk tea! |
| Eating snacks is definitely not enough to keep my stomach full and settling my dinner is a must. This is where dilemma comes in: should I wait for the Taiwanese Fried Chicken Stall to set up completely (still heating oil as I was done walking around) or I should just head to some food court (Bali-Bali in this case) and buy economical rice. I opted for the later and it was not a good decision as the desire for pork got the better of me which in turn translate into exorbitant price: RM6!? |

| Actually besides visiting 1st Avenue Mall, one of my main intention of going to Komtar on that day is to pay a visit to a long time friend (primary school!) who was on tour/helping out his company in promoting Chinese New Year Compilation Album. The promo tour was held over Prangin Mall (yes, where the plebs shops) and they have a small signing session for those who came over and watch. Talking that friend of mine, he's actually aspiring to be a singer (a long time dream since high school) and he has been around KL since 4 years ago, moonlighting as live singer at Cafe's and Station1 and what not. As far as I know from him, there's an EP currently in the pipeline and hopefully will be released on January. But still, he look so worn down and thin... |
-Monday 10.1.11-
| It's that time of the month again in which there's a obligation for me to do as a tenant of Bakti Permai Blok H7. |
| Marching uphills again to that very dreadful place... |
| ...to pay up the numbers printed on this neat piece of paper called the invoice. |
| Went through the creaking door (which I still confused whether it's push or pull), take a number, march towards the counter, hand over receipt, paid my money, heads off to where ever place that I needed to go to. |
| ...which brings me over to the PHS1 New Wing (Remember that I want to register for ILS and EndNote workshop?) which also brought me to face reality (in a way) by reading my supervisor's Phd Thesis over the Malaysiana and Archive Section. Just look at this. So thick with knowledge and death of trees! Read up (while chatting with Tatie) and pick up whatever knowledge that I need to (with a little bit help from my camera. *shush* and heads back to my room during lunch time. |
| Last but not least, I went to Student Co-op to buy more A4 paper and thus making my "effort" in multiplying my carbon footprint to INSANE level and hopefully some effort that I made will translate as an actual progress. Am I heading in the right direction? The reminder by my department's chairperson on when I am supposed to hand in the proposal really help me in all ways possible positively and negatively. Enough of a push or I am will be lingering around. |
Epilogue: My biggest fear right now, brought to you by PHD Comics: Piled Higher and Deeper! It's totally like Dejavu now that's it's freaky.
| It felt so real. My energy gained after having a holiday back in Kuching has been negated by all the other factors here. Just to make myself feel worse, I am going back for CNY a week earlier before the CNY actually starts! I am feeling very vulnerable right now. I...I can't breathe...I am literally choking due to nervousness! *dies* |
