Mish-mash updates in my life...*cos my blog look dead*

Prologue: Phrase of the day: TIGA HATI DUA NIAT, 三心两意。So many choices, so many (in)decision! Need more time to make up my mind...

Had been sleeping and waking up early recently. I think procrastination and lack of stamina has to do with it (but nevermind with the waking up early thing tho, I always online first thing in the morning). And right now I am at Istimewa since 6 a.m in the morning and blogging about various random updates about my life. *plus I need to download Bleach and kill time while waiting for my recording in the evening after my Japanese class got cancelled.*

There are cows, grazing on the grass right beside the road opposite the campus and my hostel complex's compound. So...incongrous with the surrounding. This was taken last week actually when I went over to Istimewa for B&O.

Saw this poster hanging right outside Ivory Plaza. ZOMG Marrybrown is coming to open up a branch over Ivory Mall?! USM'er are sure spoiled of choices. But I wonder which shop are gonna make way for the new premise if there is one...Or this is just false alarm and just a promo banner for a branch somewhere else...but they didn't list down the location at the banner...hmm speculations lurking...

There had been more kitteh in Tekun, both cafe and my hostel recently. It's either the resident femme-kitteh got herself another litter again or there's more new tenant moving in. But never mind those cos the kittehs is TEH-KYUUTTT! Here's a couple of them playing besides the cafe.

Miracle of the week for USMhotspot: Instead of showing blank spaces, embedded Youtube video actually appeared and best of all, it did load! But then, USMhotspot still blocks Youtube page...
*and USMhotspot connection which has been spectacular (in it's own way because we all know it sucks most of the time) for most of this semester decided to go back to it's original sucky state and now I can't go online all the time *even at peak hour* like I used to for most of this semester except early in the morning. Sigh.*

Had been binging and snacking on Munchy's cheese cracker *AGAIN* and not so sure how many package that I ate already. Can't resist the cheesy goodness. Nice to keep your mouth moving.

Last week was a really long weekend for me since there was public holiday for Awal Muharram on Monday. Wasn't exactly productive anyway but at least I finished my HBT203 text 5 in one day. *of course with proper preparation though*

But during the same period of time, got myself some really hideous and painful gash/lesion/burn/injuries/wound etc...and I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THE HELL DO IT GOT IT. Just woke up one day only to find that my right arm is tinging in pain and covers with wound that looks like gashes and burn. Some says that I got attacked by a very infamous bug in USM ubiquitously known as "Charlie" (no idea what's the real name for it and why it is called as such) which can release acid (some say can reach pH 1) while provoked. That somewhat explains how the long gash of wound and burn formed. Come to think of it, I had seen once some really small and colorful orange and black striped bug a couple days ago. Could it be...? It makes me shivers whenever I think about the ominous presence of this bug RIGHT IN MY ROOM...and it has been raining recently so *shudders in fear* Here's some of it right beside my elbow at the back of my arm...

And a couple more on my arm. Anyway, a couple more people who have some sense of humour as well as having certain knowledge about my guilty pleasure *yaoi* quipped that I got whipped by bishies/secret male companion or I had been whipping myself. How much I wish it could happen instead of some acid-releasing bug. *oh, the kinky-ness*

Went for PPMS interview on Tuesday, 10th of Mac. And there's no crowd at all when I reached there! Granted, they acknowledged the problem that they faces last time and decided that they will have 2 interview sessions in two days instead doing it oneshot. Oh well, better appreciate the convenience! The very first group of people went in as soon as I settled down after I hand in the result and marked the attendance.

This was taken while waiting the first round of group interview to be over. FooYen, fellow PPMS from CG as well as Amin, Bakti Permai's penghulu was in the the first group to be interviewed as well. Anyway, they organized all the application form according to the applicant's residence and it was quite a pile. One thing that I can't help to notice though is that there is only 2 PETAS applicants which I manage to catch a glimpse of from the pile of application forms. One of them of course, is Vincent. Hey, how's your interview anyway? About half an hour later, the first group done with their interview and now it's my turn for interview. My group (besides me) consisted of Kak Noren (Veteran PPMS going for a third. She was in Indah Kembara, right? Or izzit Aman Damai?) and 4 other juniors, 3 of them are from School of Education and 1 of them are a geography major from my school. And oh, all of them are ladies except me. Oh well.

Anyway, the interview was chaired by none other than the Best-partner-in-crime-since-the early PPMS day-and-now-working in USM, Encik Eruwan and Encik Zul (aka Abe Yoh, his kecek-kelate is DAMN THICK!) beside another HEPP officer which I dunno of and Encik Helmi. The interview went off as usual like self-introduction but as soon as we are done with it, Encik Eruwan and Abe Yoh starts grinding all of us with pressing question especially me and Kak Noren. ("Why you guys have to be greedy? Why not let the juniors have the chance? What if I choose the juniors instead of YOU?" As for the juniors: "If I were to choose one from all of you, what makes you better than the seniors that I have to choose you? You know that you will lose the chance if you let the seniors become PPMS again.") And I have to say that my answer was rather...MEH and it was not done properly. Then out of a sudden, Abe Yoh noticed that the all three of juniors from School of Ed are member of Kusisdari, the persatuan anak negeri for Perak. So just to grind us further, Abe Yoh ask: "Explain to me what happen in Perak. You all knows what happening, right? What do you think about it?" And some really intense exchange of words occured between the juniors and Eruwan and Abe Yoh, well known for being rough on words. Let just say that what going on between them quickly degenerated in somewhat non-sense which multple factual error. And this is when all the knowledge that I got from online as well as printed press comes into a full play which turns the situation back to logic. I think my explaination and information were laid out quite well until Abe Yoh quipped that "You all 4 Perak-ian can't even compete with a Sarawakian!" and Encik Eruwan add on that a PPMS should be pragmatic and keen on real fact and deliver the correct message to the public which they will handle as a PPMS, which is the student. This is also a test on the general knowledge as well to check whether we are up to date to current issues. Looks like my chance of being PPMS again is quite possible! *finger's crossed* Too bad the geography junior beside me didn't have much chance to talk though due to all the commotions. Hope she can get it. The more humanities student the better. SzeSze went in way later and discovered that two more BATI junior, MeiMay and Sivaneshwari applied as well. Hope you girls can get it as well and we can form a BATI caucus of PPMS! Woohoo!

Went for the resume writing talk by ELS on Wednesday 11th of Mac. At first I wasn't exactly keen of going because it was right after my HBT 207 tutorial in which on that day as well, it's my turn have wawancara. (What did I presented: Cara kata majmuk diperihalkan dalam kamus. WHAT THE HELL IS KATA MAJMUK ANYWAY? AND WHY THERE IS SO MANY OPINION REGARDING KATA MAJMUK IN BM BY MALAY LINGUISTS? Utterly confusing until I crapped for most of the time) And then Lydia reminded me about it. There's no way to run lolx! Anyway, it was presented by Ms Tan Swee Guat of Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) and Dr. Munir and the content was quite interesting in the end and definitely got myself some idea what I should and shouldn't write in my resume thanks to all the real life example of resumes used to highlight the point.

...and ohh, I won a PSDC bag in the warmin-up quiz session! Nice design and whats make it better is the sturdier bottom of the bag. And Lydia give me a *rolleye* when I said the word bottom. LMAO.

Right after the talk, joined Lydia, her BF J.C., HuiPing, Azira and Avinesh for dinner at McDonald. And looks like McD is gonna make the McShaker bag a permanent feature *woohoo!!!* And their new McShaker bag looks sturdier as well.

Mmm...the fries smells good~~~

Oh this was taken was taken on the day before when we went over to McD for supper. Lydia (that's her finger over there btw) offered me her dad's homemade chicken sandwish. It was HEAVENLY. (I think the sammich had it's role in winning me over to go for the talk...) And for no reason out of a blue after eating this sandwich, random musing comes into my mind:

Why do Anglophone Chinese Malaysian(just to include Peranakan and First English speaker Chinese Malaysian) have very specific and niche hobbies (for example and somewhat related to the sammich - mountain hiking or exploring or expedition in 4-wheel-drive etc etc...and you need a sammich to go with it!) as well involved in various activities and such etc. (Lion's Club, Rotary Club, Toastmasters etc etc) I had been observing the same trait from a couple of my friend which I know either from highschool and right now as well.

*I know, this is a way random thought that pops up...and all of it starts from a single sammich!*

---------------------------------------------

And ohh, went to Queensbay Mall yesterday with SzeSze, YenPheng, ChiaMin, SheiHan, Lawrence, MingWei and SanJing after class. It started off as a sudden movie plan to watch Dragonball the movie (which I am not exactly keen of because I DESPISE ALL WESTERN ADAPTATION OF JAPANESE ANIME, WHETHER IT'S DUBBING OR REAL LIFE ADAPTATION.) after dinner (THIS is what I keen of. lol). We went there by bus (crappy Milan bus this time) and bumped into our juniors as well(in which one of them is my daughter). Anyway, our group went to Chopperboard as suggested by Lawrence. (but he as suggester didn't even remember correctly the place). Let's just say that it was quite a let down and the portion served wasn't filling for most of us except Lawrence. Looks like it was unanimously blacklisted by us. But anyway for the sake of exposure, this is the Kung-Pow Minced Meat Rice, coupled with Iced honey. See the portion? I like the steel cup though.

...and this is the salad cup ordered by YenPheng which came waaaaay LATER after we had our meal. lol YenPheng looks like you weren't in time to cancel the order. This was meh as well. After this, all of us went up to the cinema to check the schedule and looks like the time of the movie is not exactly convenient at all. (phew!) And all of us went down to Jusco and seperated on our own way to do our own shopping and exploring. I was totally Tiga hati dua niat on whether I should buy sushi when some of us suggested that we should have a second round and the chance for it are very imminent. In the end, while me, Lawrence and YenPheng went around in Jusco shopping, SheiHan and SzeSze messaged that both of them are at KimGary. KYAAA I WANNA GO!!!!! After all of us grab our stuff, all of us went up to join them! (sidenote: this is also the time when we realized that ChiaMin went back on her own already. LMAO?)

Signboard right beside the dining area. Dokidokiwakuwaku to the max when the line outside looks long. Luckily SzeSze and SheiHan book the tables for all of us so we went it straight without going through the wait.

Their logo on the menu. KimGary specializes in HongKong cafe cuisine. Let's see what they offered...

SanJing and MingWei.

SzeSze and SheiHan, busy ordering. And yes, thank both of you for pointing out that KimGary are mostly staffed by guys. Eyecandy while having meal *smirk*.

YenPheng, browsing through the menu.

Lawrence, taking more pictures of SanJing and MingWei.

...and your's truly, ME. It has been a while since the last time my own face appeared in my own blog right?

Bosco Wong (黄综泽)is the spokesperson for KimGary. He did came over for the opening ceremony of KimGary at Queensbay last time.

YinYong Milk Tea, basically coupling coffee and tea to give it a distinctive flavour.

Honey and butter toast. And this is when we realized why the plate didn't brake when the waiter cleaning the neighbouring table accidentally drop it: it was made of PLASTIC.

What-the-name-rice-with meat and broccoli ordered by Lawrence.

Swiss Curry with Spaghetti shared by SzeSze and SheiHan.

Forgot whats-the-name Spaghetti with two sauces and two slices of pork.

Same thing for SanJing and MingWei except theirs is chicken wings.

Verdict of my first KimGary experience: Hmm...the food is nice but it wasn't exactly SPECTACULAR as hyped. I guess franchise dining outlet will always be franchise franchise dining outlet even when it is famous: mass-produced cuisine. Anyway, overall still acceptable and will be in the list when considering place to eat out.

Epilogue: Phew this is long. Better go back to hostel now. *and hope that the adapter head will not acting up again. And last 3 weeks to go and assignment are still coming in! Procrastinator 5000 is lurking behind me again!
