In the spirit of the double harvest festival, may our beautiful land of Borneo blessed with bountiful harvest and prosperity! I could really use some Pansoh and Boar Meat, both roasted and stewed! Perhaps add in some tuak or langkau too! I wonder if my parent has visiting plan for Gawai this year too.
While the whole Borneo is in festive mood however, there's something amiss which warrant this quick round of social commentary:

| So where in the world did Papa Orang Utan of Radio Free Sarawak fame disappeared to? Earlier noon today at Miri, he was whisked away by three plain-clothed, unidentified men and no news has been heard from him since then. Who are these three men? His return to Miri is already quite tumultuous: barred at Kota Kinabalu International Airport by the police but released for his flight to Miri after getting his personal document photocopied, welcomed yet again by the police as soon as he landed in Miri but the police released him as well. Then, he just disappeared at noon, leaving everyone guessing. Everything is still shrouded in mystery on the eve of Gawai... |
*Just a quick update about the previous item: apparently he hide himself voluntarily, according to a statement from RFS. So let's wait whether he will resurface any time soon. Meanwhile, let's refrain from further speculation.
*Yet another quick update: POU has contacted RFS that he went into hiding voluntarily because he is "afraid of what police will do to him" but he's now prepared to meet with the police. So as it turns out in the end, a case of freaking out or self-orchestrated publicity stunt? Has his worry about unjust persecution by the police or anyone for that matter unsubstantiated or remain justified? If anything, let's wait until he actually resurface so the question of Where is Peter John still somewhat standing. To be honest, I am feeling quite perplexed about the whole drama and again proven my love-hate (mostly hate) about how event unfold in real time on Facebook and how speculations can blown ridiculously out of proportion when uncapped for example how "police detention" is the first thing that comes to the mind even though the police has denied that (or at least, no order received...yet.). My personal conclusion: this is definitely NOT a JFK moment.
后语: 五月就这样子谢幕了。虽然已经努力尽力了，得来的结果还是只能说是勉强过关，擦险而过。心情就还有那一点空虚感。还是我应该收拾一下心情，对那结果感到感恩，满足，再继续往下一关撑下去呢？空虚，疲惫，心力交瘁。
