[Filler/Aside] More good songs that's on the air now.

Prologue: *phew* At least some stuff settled. Blazers and slacks for convo: Checked. Flight Ticket for convo: Checked. Place to stay for a week: Checked.(Tailou Wong! Thank you for saving my day!) MOHE (ridiculously long) survey on the quality of higher education: Checked and printed out. So what else do I miss? Ah, a good blogpost related to me. *sigh* Must be the prolonged rest that killed my brain cell. But I do want slacking too. Can I slack at home forever?

There's has been a few good songs currently on air, blaring repeatedly from our radio. Here's just some of a few good songs that I would recommend at the moment.

Charice - "Pyramid" featuring Iyaz

[Iyaz]
Shawty's love is like a pyramid (ooh)
We stand together till the very end (eh ooh)
There'll never be another love for sure (ooh)
Iyaz and Charice let we go

Stones, heavy like the love you've shown
Solid as the ground we've known
And I just wanna carry on
We took it from the bottom up
And even in a desert storm
Sturdy as a rock we hold
Wishing every moment froze
Now I just wanna let you know
Earthquakes can't shake us
Cyclones can't break us
Hurricanes can't take away our love

[Chorus:]
Pyramid, we built this on a solid rock
It feels just like it's heaven's touch
Together at the top, like a pyramid
And even when the wind is blowing
We'll never fall just keep on going
Forever we will stay, like a pyramid

Like a pyramid like a pyramid eh (ooh)
Like a pyramid like a pyramid eh (ooh)
Like a pyramid like a pyramid eh eh (oooh)
Cold, never ever wear any clothes
We will never let it fall
A story that was never told
Something like a mystery
And every step you took we've grown
Look how fast our time has flown
A journey to a place unknown
We're going down in history
Earthquakes can't shake us
Cyclones can't break us
Hurricanes can't take away our love

[Chorus]

Pyramid, keep it going

Like a pyramid girl let me show you
That I love you so much
That we gonna get through (oh oh)
Even when there's storms
I will never go, Ima be the one to keep you safe (hey)
Before was our love back it up more than enough
Holding on to one another be the cover when it's rough (oh oh)
Mother nature (hey) or disaster won't stop at happy ever after

[Chorus]

Built this on a solid rock
It feels just like it's heaven's touch
Together at the top, like a pyramid
And even when the wind is blowing
We'll never fall just keep on going
Forever we will stay, like a pyramid

Pyramid, pyramid, pyramid, pyramid
Pyramid, pyramid, pyramid

A few surprises upon discovering the actual name of the song (after listening carefully while driving...and the radio repeated it a few times!): Pyramid. lol I thought it's some random french word when she sang chorus. As for the singer, she's Charice Pempengco from The Phillipines. Her rise to stardom was quite meteoric as the she's the first Asian to reach the top of Billboard 200 as well as being featured on Oprah. Furthermore, she will be starring in the upcoming season 2 of Glee! Pretty cool!

Hey, Soul Sister by Train

Hey, hey, hey

Your lipstick stains on the front lobe of my left side brains
I knew I wouldn't forget you, and so I went and let you blow my mind
Your sweet moonbeam, the smell of you in every single dream I dream
I knew when we collided, you're the one I have decided who's one of my kind

Hey soul sister, ain't that Mr. Mister on the radio, stereo, the way you move ain't fair, you know!
Hey soul sister, I don't want to miss a single thing you do...tonight
Hey, hey,hey

Just in time, I'm so glad you have a one-track mind like me
You gave my life direction, a game show love connection we can't deny
I'm so obsessed, my heart is bound to beat right out my untrimmed chest
I believe in you, like a virgin, you're Madonna, and I'm always gonna wanna blow your mind

Hey soul sister, ain't that Mr. Mister on the radio, stereo, the way you move ain't fair, you know!
Hey soul sister, I don't want to miss a single thing you do...tonight

The way you can cut a rug, watching you's the only drug I need
You're so gangsta, I'm so thug, you're the only one I'm dreaming of
You see, I can be myself now finally, in fact there's nothing I can't be
I want the world to see you be with me

Hey soul sister, ain't that Mr. Mister on the radio, stereo, the way you move ain't fair, you know!
Hey soul sister, I don't want to miss a single thing you do tonight,
Hey soul sister, I don't want to miss a single thing you do...tonight
Hey, hey,hey

Tonight
Hey, hey,hey
Tonight

The whole feel of the song is very relaxing, complete with catchy tune especially the accompanying "cavaquinho", a string instrument of Portuguese origin. And the main reason I post it here because I want to dedicate this song to my fellow SISTAHs of the SISTAH-HOOD! Hey, Soul Sister!

Epilogue: Trapped between a rock and a hard place. I want to go back yet I don't want to go back. Oh the emotional turmoil.
