Half a tribute, full of thought: to Peter Neoh.

RIP Peter Neoh. We miss you dearly.

In my Pre-KL post which is a couple of posts before, I did mention about the loss of my friend's younger brother and it makes me wonder how fragile a human life is. Now, it happened again which have even greater impact on me and the whole AIESEC LCUSM. We loss one of our best alumni ever, Peter Neoh...

That night was the the third night of NLDS, before the Global Village. Everyone including me was preparing tediously for the performance later when Stefan starts crying. Not just sobbing but REAL emotional powerful and loud cry with real tears. When i tries to approach him to inquire what happened, Rubini hold me back, telling me, calmly that there is nothing to be worried and we should concentrate on making the performance happen. Soon, every EB was called off to a secluded location for an emengency EB meet. This is when I thought:"oh something bad happened" but i am not so sure what exactly happened so back to work for me. A few attempt of inquiries end up fruitless without further details. Every EB are secretive throughout the GV and instead call us to work hard on our performance.(and WE DID despite manpower issues).

So after the whole buzz of GV is over, we went back to our hostel with the usual daily recap session with Stefan. Only after the usual stuff is done, Stefan reveals to us what exactly happened: Peter Neoh passed away. Pei Yue and Jessica cried(both of them are close to Peter) while the rest of us was stunned in silence. Later Stefan informed us about the time and place for his funeral service(which was Yesterday) and anyone who knows him can go and give him the last tribute. Unfortunately due to transportation and accommodations issue, I can't make it and now i am kinda regret about it...and on the next day, the opening plenary starts with one minutes of silence as a tribute to Peter and the usually noisy hall is in pindrop silence...

Now, what do i know about Peter Neoh? Shamefully, I have to admit I did'nt really know him in a much personal way like Pei Yue and Jessica did. I don't really have in depth conversation with him before and our relationship is what typical of between a junior and senior(in this case, as an AIESEC-er). And now, its kinda too late to do anything already... Anyway, my impression of him is bubbly, jovial, jocular and overflowing of enthusiasm and energy(it literally oozes out of him, no lies!). He came to almost all the weekly session tirelessly, joining our squaredance with his powerful moves and always the noisy one in the weekly session. He wears a AIESEC pendant around his neck and never takes it down since. He is what we call a truly passionate AIESEC-er. He cares and concerns about AIESEC in general and especially LCUSM. Everyone that have close relationship with him adores him. That's why when the news cames in, most of them was devastated especially Serena...

My deepest condolences to Peter's family and anyone who adores and cherishes him. His enthusiasm, passion and energy lives on in anyone that he had left IMPACT of. Let us pass on and infect(yes infect) his passion to everyone and lives life to the fullest just like what he did before meeting his uneventful end of is life...

Sometimes, it makes you wonder why thing occurs at the time that you wanted least? It is somewhat like god is playing a prank on us except this prank involves a young man(two, for me) that still have a long way to go in the life stories and meeting an abrupt fullstop for it. It makes you wonder what might happen if they are alive right now, gossip that they might shares with you, jokes that they gonna tell you, sending sms to you or whatever stuff that he might be doing. Sometimes, this is just one pure fateful that just happened by chance...

ps. thanks to Serena fo clarification of fact...i feel so stupid for messing up fact...

hey dear, the chain around peter's neck does not come from a keychain =) it's truly an AIESEC pendant. Haha, just wanted to clarify and to leave a note on your blog.
Anyhow...may he rest in peace...

I'll see you babies soon =)
